Marine Control and Instrumentation

OVERVIEW

This one week course investigates instrumentation and control systems including:

Sensors
Open loop control systems
Closed loop control systems
Operation of control devices
PLC’s
Wiring and fault finding

The Marine School has extensive electrical instrumentation equipment and simulation which is arranged into useful practical tasks for the understanding of operation, control and fault finding.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

There are no pre-requisites for this course, it is designed for serving Marine Engineers or ETOs.

ASSESSMENT

In course continuous assessment and end test.

PROFESSIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

Marine Control and Instrumentation courseis an optional requirement for a UK Electro Technical Officer Certificate of Competency (ETO CoC).

Marine Control and Instrumentation course is an optional requirement for the UK SETO CoC Endorsement.
