Advanced Training for Liquefied Gas tanker cargo operations (MCA Approved)
Syllabus:
This course is delivered using Videotel computer based, self-study with comprehensive on screen instructions and assessments. It is estimated that you will require 40 hours to complete the study.
This includes the time needed to follow the program on the computer plus the additional reading, research and the time needed to complete the computer based assessments and written projects.
A portfolio of written assessments, completed at the end of each module, will be submitted to Videotel by the candidate on completion of the course. Successful completion will lead to the issue of an MCA approved certificate by Videotel. On successful completion of the course, the candidate will have the technical knowledge required to serve on a tanker.
The candidate will have gained sufficient knowledge of the practical application of the basic principles of tanker operations.
Those undertaking this training must have completed the basic training for liquefied gas cargo operations, and must also have completed the tanker firefighting.

Following successful completion of the course and completion of the requisite sea-time, candidates will be eligible to apply for a GAS TANKER Dangerous Cargo Endorsement.
Course duration:
It is estimated that 40 Guided Learning Hours (GLHs) are required to complete this course. GLHs include the time needed to follow the program on the computer, plus time needed for additional reading and research as well as the time needed to complete the assessments.
Mode of delivery:
This course is delivered using interactive Computer Based Training (CBT). Students follow easy on-screen instructions to progress through the course. The program contains text with (optional) English language voiceover, still photographs, video clips and animations.
This course is intended for masters, officers and ratings serving on tankers who are required to undertake additional training and familiarisation in accordance with: The Merchant Shipping (Training and Certification) Regulations 1997/Marine Guidance Note (MGN)95/STCW (as amended): Regulation V/1 para 2.2 and STCW Code Section a-V1 para 22-34.
