IALA/MCA (Module 5 – C0103-1)
This is a two-day MCA approved radio course designed for people without an ROC or GOC GMDSS qualification who are training to become VTS Operators.
During the course candidates will study using the latest touchscreen Transas radio simulators. Areas of study include very high frequency (VHF) radio, VHF digital selective calling (DSC), Radar and AIS SARTs, EPIRBs, AIS, ITU and Admiralty Digital Radio Signals (ADRS).
Candidates must be over 18 to sit this course.
This radio qualification (or a recognised equivalent) is one of several qualifications required to become a VTS Operator.
