The Foundation Degree (FD) can now be studied through one of two routes:
Learners are not required to study the terms in sequence. For example, a student may complete Term 2 before Term 1 if this better suits their work patterns or personal commitments.
· Maritime Mathematics for Engineers (ME501)
· Maritime Process Control (ME502)
· Maritime Electrical and Electronic Systems (ME503)
· Maritime Naval Architecture and Ship Construction (ME507)
· Engineering Drawing
· Maritime Applied Thermodynamics (ME506)
· Maritime Applied Mechanics (ME505)
· Maritime Management and Law (ME504)
Learners who choose to study a single term initially must complete the remaining term within three years of their first enrolment.
Failure to complete the outstanding term within this three-year period will mean that the Foundation Degree cannot be awarded.
To achieve the qualification, all modules from both terms must be successfully completed and passed.
To complete the course, students will be required to have 80% attendance, therefore are expected to attend all teaching sessions where possible.
