Our Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) Equipment
Our VTS Equipment comprises of:
- Four Shore-Based VTS Operator Workstations: These receive data inputs from radar scanners and AIS locations within the designated exercise area, providing accurate real-time information.
- Observation and Supervision: Nine operators, along with up to two instructors, can monitor the VTS area of responsibility from an aerial perspective. Additionally, a dedicated VTS Supervisor workstation ensures effective oversight.
- Advanced Digital Audio Communications: Our system supports full recording and synchronization within exercise scenarios, facilitating detailed and effective debriefs.
Our state-of-the-art simulation system for VTS offers a highly realistic platform for delivering our commercial marine courses. Delegates gain hands-on experience by practicing a variety of real-life VTS scenarios, from providing essential information—such as meteorological hazard warnings and traffic positions—to managing complex vessel movements within ports or waterways.
Ideal for merchant navy training, our Kongsberg Norcontrol Foresight VTS suite is seamlessly integrated with our simulated bridges. This unique setup allows for port-integrated training sessions, enabling pilots, tug skippers, and VTS operators from the same port to work together in their own simulated port exercise environment. The Foresight software mirrors the systems used in actual port VTS facilities, ensuring participants gain relevant, practical skills.
