DO YOU ENJOY ELECTRONICS AND TECHNICAL CHALLENGES?

Electro-Technical Officers work in the engineering department of a ship. Also referred to as the Electrical Engineering Officer, the ETO is in charge of all of the electrical systems.

Our electro-technical marine courses put you in the ideal position to begin a career at sea. If you have a passion for modern technologies and would like to work at sea, the demand for ETOs is high.

ELECTRO-TECHNICAL FACILITIES

The facilities for studying electro-technical courses include instrumentation laboratories that come with hydraulic, electrical and electro-pneumatic control systems.

ABOUT ETO'S

Electro-Technical Officers (ETOs) are a type of engineer officer working in the Merchant Navy, responsible for the maintenance of all electrical equipment onboard the ship.

Like most jobs at sea, the salary of an ETO greatly varies with the experience you own, the kind of responsibilities you handle and the rank that you work on. However, even with so many variables, ETO remains a highly paying job among all careers at sea.

Success Story

When I was first looking at the Pre-Cadet programme, the promise of assistance and applying for sponsorship, as well as specialised classes covering the Merchant Navy and its operations, really appealed to me. I have now secured an ETO sponsorship with Disney Cruises, and I’ve loved developing my knowledge and sea survival skills.
