This course satisfies the requirements laid out in the MNTB TANKER TRAINING COURSES CRITERIA – 1st Edition Published April 2015.
The course meets the regulatory requirements of Tables A-V/1-1, basic training for masters, officers and ratings in oil and chemical tanker cargo operations, and A-V/1-2, basic training for masters, officers and ratings in liquefied gas tanker cargo operations, of the Annex to the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW), 1978.
Where this course is delivered as part of an MNTB approved officer cadet training programme, it is acceptable for the tanker firefighting component to be delivered as part of either Fire Prevention and Firefighting or Advanced Firefighting. Hence there would be no prerequisites for attendance on the tanker training course in such instances,
Where this course is delivered as an integrated course with firefighting, there are no prerequisites for attendance other than that specified for tanker training.
The course runs over three days where 100% attendance and participation in time-tabled lectures during that period is required.
