OVERVIEW

The MARPOL distance learning module is a competence that must be successfully demonstrated as part of the alternative route to ETO CoC.

The course satisfies the ETO competence; ‘Ensure compliance with pollution-prevention requirements’ within table A-III/6 of the STCW.

The content of the course materials provides an overview and understanding of the requirements and equipment necessary to comply with MARPOL for practising Engineering and Electro-Technical Officers.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Although there are no formal entry requirements, this is a course designed for practising Engineers and ETO’s who have a technical understanding of the requirements for satisfying MARPOL and the related equipment on board.

ASSESSMENT

The distance learning course consists of self-study materials and the assessment is a set of 10 questions submitted via distance learning to demonstrate your understanding of the topic.

Upon successful completion a college certificate will be issued to demonstrate the competence.

FURTHER INFORMATION

The completion of this competence is a requirement for the MCA ETO CoC alternative route.
