Course includes: 1.5 hrs theory input on Emergency Breathing Equipment, Lifejackets, Liferafts and emergency procedures and actions. 5.5 hrs practical instruction demonstrations and delegate participation in dry and wet evacuation scenarios.
The one-day OPITO approved HUET with CA-EBS course is designed to meet the offshore safety and emergency response requirements for personnel working in the offshore energy industry who will be supplied with a compressed air emergency breathing system (CA-EBS) during offshore helicopter travel.
No training pre-requisites are required.
All learners are required provide proof of Identity i.e. Passport, National ID Card or Driver’s License.
Learners will require the following certification to meet the medical requirements of the course.
A valid, current offshore medical certificate.
Or
A valid, current employing company medical certificate equivalent to an offshore medical certificate,
Learners will also require a valid “Fit to Train” certificate (Issued on request from an approved OG/UK Doctor.
Learners who have a valid ENG1 Seafarers Medical without restrictions may also carry out the training.
Should a learner with an ENG1 Seafarer Medical certificate have a restriction – The learner will require a statement from an appropriate registered medical practitioner that the restriction or condition does not result from a respiratory or ENT condition and there is no absolute contradiction to the learner’s participation in shallow water CA-EBS training.
Training activities on this course may include physically demanding and potentially stressful elements. All personnel who participate in such activities must be capable of participating fully.
Full joining instructions will be issued via email on completion of course booking.
Please note: If you are not an EU passport holder, you will require a Student Visitor Visa to attend any course at South Tyneside College.
