Candidates who successfully complete the course will be issued with an MCA approved VTS Recurrent training certificate (C0103-5).

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Candidates should be current VTS Operators or VTS Supervisors.

The rules regarding who can use this course depend upon the country candidates are working in:

VTS personnel working in the UK: The MCA require recurrent training to be undertaken at a maximum three-year interval. VTS Simulation, VTS Refresher, and VTS Supervisor courses all count as recurrent training towards the three-year limit.

If your last VTS Simulation, VTS Recurrent, or VTS Supervisor course was over three years ago, and you have exceptional circumstances you should contact the MCA to check if you can sit this course. Candidates who do not meet the above criteria will need to sit the five-day VTS Simulation course, please check with the college and MCA if in any doubt.

VTS Personnel working outside of the UK: Please contact your competent authority to check the rules regarding how often VTS Recurrent training should be taken.

ASSESSMENT

This course is continuously assessed to the criteria set by the MCA. Candidates will receive constructive feedback during debriefs after each exercise.
