The Fire Training Centre at South Shields Marine School’s Marine Offshore Safety Training (MOST) centre has successfully delivered a series of high-impact training programmes, reinforcing its position as a leading provider of specialist fire and emergency response instruction across the country.
In recent weeks, the centre welcomed personnel from the Royal Navy Reserves and Newcastle College, facilitating joint training exercises designed to enhance operational readiness, teamwork, and emergency response capabilities. These sessions combined realistic fire scenarios with advanced safety protocols, enabling participants to develop critical skills in a controlled yet dynamic environment.
The collaboration reflects the centre’s commitment to supporting both military and educational partners, ensuring that trainees gain practical, hands-on experience aligned with real-world challenges. By bringing together diverse groups, the training also encouraged knowledge sharing and strengthened inter-organisational relationships.
In addition to hosting visiting groups, the Fire Training Centre has extended its expertise beyond its facilities. Specialist instructors recently delivered on-site training to the Mines Rescue Team at Boulby Mine in Cleveland. This bespoke programme focused on fire response in confined and high-risk underground environments, tailored specifically to the unique demands of mining operations.
The off-site training underscores the centre’s flexibility and dedication to meeting industry needs wherever they arise. By adapting its approach to different sectors, the team ensures that safety standards remain consistently high across a wide range of working environments.
With a growing portfolio of partnerships and training capabilities, the Fire Training Centre at South Shields Marine School continues to play a vital role in enhancing safety, preparedness, and professional development across multiple sectors.
